The Skin Specialist Centre is a new facility designed for dermatologic and laser surgery. We provide an on-site laboratory for Mohs micrographic surgery, plus full surgical and anaesthesia services. We have off-street parking.

Professional activities

Dr McKerrow is available for consultations for all aspects of dermatology and specializes particularly in laser, cosmetic and skin cancer surgery. We provide a most extensive range of lasers to cover all patients’ needs. New additions of lasers which we have introduced are the Fraxel Restore Dual, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand and an excellent laser for the management of refractory pigmentation, the Luminas Duet laser, which is virtually a pain-free laser for hair removal, and the Revlite EO Q-switched laser for refractory pigmentation as well. Included among the cosmetic procedures performed at the Skin Specialist Centre are:

• Eyelid surgery
• Mohs micrographic surgery, which offers the highest cure rate for non-melanoma skin cancers and is particularly suited for large, difficult or recurrent skin neoplasms, is provided on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The Skin Specialist Centre in Remuera is a modern facility designed for the management of skin patients. The centre provides an on-site laboratory for Mohs micrographic surgery, plus full surgical and anaesthesia services. We also have off-street parking. Over 550 cases of Mohs surgery are performed each year, with referrals from both the North and South Islands. Over 9,500 cases of Mohs surgery have been performed since its introduction to New Zealand in 1989 by Dr McKerrow.
